North Port pension board approves routine minutes, expenses and scheduling; renews FPPTA membership

At the Dec. 18 meeting, the City of North Port Firefighters' Pension Trust Fund board handled several routine governance matters and approved meeting logistics.
Trustees voted to approve the Sept. 20, 2024 minutes, accepted the actual administrative expenses as of Sept. 30, 2024 and approved the quarterly/financial reports as presented. Chrissy Stoper had noted administrative expenses of $138,276.77 and said she would locate the approved FY23–24 budget and include it in the annual report to the state.
The board approved the consent agenda (including a summary of invoices and a brief fund activity report), and unanimously agreed to renew the Florida Public Pension Trustees Association (FPPTA) membership for 2025 at $750 to cover the board. Trustees also agreed by motion to reschedule the June 2025 meeting to Friday, June 20, 2025, at 9 a.m. in Room 244.
Why it matters: These votes finalize routine financial reporting and ensure trustees maintain access to professional training and the statutory reporting needed for state compliance. Trustees directed staff to confirm quorum communication procedures (a centralized quorums@fosterandfoster.com address) and to work with city staff to ensure timely filings and scheduling.
