Gwinnett board approves agenda, minutes and consent items; posts budget review and hiring event reminders

At the start of its Dec. 10 session the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from Dec. 3 and Dec. 5 by voice vote with no opposition, and it approved the consent agenda.
The chair reminded residents that the proposed 2025 county budget is available for review and public comment through Dec. 31 online at GwinnettCounty.com and said the board will vote on the budget at its Jan. 7 meeting. The chair also announced the county’s 'Career From Here' hiring event on Friday, Jan. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, where candidates can interview with county representatives and meet Department of Human Resources staff.
Commissioner Cooch and Commissioner Holtkamp used the announcements segment to promote district events: Cooch highlighted a tree ordinance survey open through Dec. 19 and a Berry Merry holiday event; Holtkamp promoted cookie-decorating at 1 Stop Buford on Dec. 23 and a senior social, 'Merry Quizmas,' on Dec. 19 at Bogan Park Community Rec Center (admission $8).
The board opened public comment but recorded no speakers before adjourning the business session.
