City staff walked the Community Development Advisory Board through the action-plan schedule for upcoming funding decisions and public hearings.
Staff (Miss Carter) said applications and proposal materials are available to nonprofits and that the application deadline is Jan. 6. She asked applicants to provide thumb drives for presentations and noted that nonprofit presentations will be made to the CAB on Jan. 15; "What's key here is that on 15th, your meeting is very important that everybody comes. We need a quorum," Carter said.
Staff explained the schedule of subsequent steps: a public meeting where staff will make recommendations is planned for Jan. 24, funding recommendations by the CAB are expected on Feb. 19, the first city council public hearing is scheduled for April 3, and a final public hearing is expected on June 19, although those dates could change if the City Council’s meeting calendar shifts. Staff noted they must also provide documentation to the county and that some dates were set to accommodate county review.
Board members asked which meetings CAB members are expected to attend and surfaced concern that city council may not meet in June; staff said they will update the timeline if needed. Chair reiterated the importance of attendance, urging members to notify staff if they cannot attend the January meeting so the board can preserve quorum.
