Kings County Board approves amended minutes, consent calendar and 2025 committee assignments (5-0)

The Kings County Board of Supervisors approved three procedural items by unanimous votes during its Jan. 14 meeting.
The board approved amended minutes from the Jan. 7 regular meeting after county counsel noted corrections to the reorganization language and motion attributions. Supervisor Joe Neves made the motion to approve the amended minutes; Supervisor Rusty Robinson seconded. The clerk recorded a 5-0 roll-call vote in favor.
The board then approved the consent calendar by a single motion (moved by Supervisor Neves and seconded by Supervisor Robinson); the clerk again recorded a 5-0 vote.
Administration presented the recommended 2025 board and committee assignments. Supervisor Rusty Robinson moved to approve the assignments, Supervisor Robert Thayer seconded, and the board approved the recommendation by a 5-0 roll-call vote.
During public comment earlier in the meeting, Rebecca Bell thanked first responders for mutual aid in Los Angeles and raised concerns that some businesses were overcharging evacuees. Chair and counsel advised that suspected criminal activity should be reported to the district attorney’s office for investigation; no county consumer-protection action was announced at the meeting.
No new ordinances or resolutions were adopted during these actions; the recorded votes reflect approval of the listed items.
