Public comment: county staff introduced AG outreach contact; one speaker made multiple allegations

Later, Luke McKee used his three-minute public comment to make multiple allegations about local jail records, the treatment and release of a person he named, and difficulties obtaining records from sheriff’s and jail offices. His remarks included claims of interference with records requests and allegations about other agencies; he also referred to actions he said he would take outside the county. The chair concluded his allotted time at three minutes.
Board members did not take action on issues raised in public comment at this meeting. The county clerk had previously explained that items not on the posted agenda cannot be acted on during the call to the public.
Because the statements by Mr. McKee are allegations presented during public comment and were not addressed with documentary evidence during the meeting record, they remain unsubstantiated in the meeting proceedings.
