A Marshall High School representative told Hamilton City Council the school's Hamilton campus has been selected as one of the host sites for the Forbes Under 30 Summit service day on Sept. 25. The presenter described Marshall as a charter campus focused on dropout prevention, credit recovery and career-technical education and said the summit will provide mentorship and volunteer support.
The school plans a half-day of service and mentorship and a Shark Tank-style pitch event for entrepreneurial students, with the winning team receiving mentorship from a Forbes speaker for the rest of the school year. The presenter said the campus has grown rapidly since opening and invited council to visit and participate; Marshall's culinary students will prepare a luncheon for the event.
Council members praised the program and several audience members (including teachers and residents) offered compliments and said they plan to attend. The presentation was framed as an opportunity to raise the school's profile and offer students hands-on experience with entrepreneurship, technical programs and hospitality services.
No legislative action was taken; the presenter said the school will distribute invitations to council and provide a press release with event details.
