County staff told commissioners Sept. 18 that the county had secured a $9,750,000 tax‑anticipation line of credit and planned to finalize paperwork at a closing scheduled for Sept. 24. Staff described the facility as a line of credit that will be drawn as needed and noted the variable interest rate is SOFR plus 125 basis points.
The presentation explained the related certificates and no‑litigation and no‑arbitrage statements that bond counsel prepared. Staff said they had provided required public notices and the executive committee had authorized the treasurer to sign related documents so the county meets statutory notice and due‑diligence rules for issuing tax anticipation notes.
Officials emphasized the line of credit is a cash‑management tool to bridge timing differences between expenditures and the receipt of taxes and to cover scheduled October bond payments. County staff said they will have the documents signed at the conclusion of the meeting to ensure a smooth closing.
No vote was required to review the paperwork because prior authorizations were in place; staff noted they would sign and finalize the TAN paperwork as part of routine financial operations.
The transcript records the identity of bond counsel and contractual provisions discussed; commissioners asked clarifying questions about rate movement and timing but did not alter the planned closing or the line amount.
