Board approves boutique at 42 North Street after clarifying unit arrangement

The Middletown Planning Board approved a retail boutique at 42 North Street on Dec. 4 after applicants Dominique Samson and Denise Dufresne explained the shop will occupy a smaller retail unit behind an existing business.
Chair (unnamed) read into the record a written comment from Rev. Victor J. Sarazen of Grace Episcopal Church noting that the address currently houses Alloy Hair Studio. Samson and Dufresne clarified that Alloy occupies one unit, the boutique will occupy a separate rear retail space, and there is a third unit between them. "So there's a space behind 42 behind the salon," Samson said to clarify location.
The board asked routine questions about mailings, use and tenant separation; staff confirmed mailings were complete and there was no public opposition in person. After closing the public hearing, the board approved the resolution by roll call.
