The Middletown Planning Board approved an application Dec. 4 from Nicole and Raymond Marquez to operate a nail salon at 2 West Main Street and amended the approval to set Sunday hours at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Nicole Marquez told the board she plans to operate the salon with licensed employees. The board confirmed that all employees must hold appropriate licenses; Marquez said they would. Board members pressed the applicants for a specific Sunday schedule; the applicant confirmed "10 AM" to "5 PM" when prompted during the hearing.
After a motion to amend the resolution to record the Sunday hours, the board approved the amendment and then the amended resolution by unanimous roll call. The applicant was advised to ensure all employees are properly licensed and to comply with any building- or health-department permitting requirements before opening.
