Poly Craft project: monthly site visit finds contractors largely meeting local compliance targets

Staff reported a Sept. 13 site visit for the Poly Craft project that observed 11 workers (none from out of the area), no accidents, and contractor local-hire compliance rates of 100% (Cioffi Excavating) and 96.93% (Sullivan Construction Group); a waiver for Brecknaught Builders had been granted earlier.
Staff presented the Lokey and Brill monthly monitoring report for the Poly Craft project at the Oct. 15 meeting, reporting results from a Sept. 13 site visit. According to the report, inspectors observed 11 workers at the site, none from out of the area, and no accidents were reported during the visit.
The monitoring report listed contractor compliance with local-hire goals: Cioffi Excavating was reported at 100% local compliance, Sullivan Construction Group at 96.93% local compliance, and Brecknaught Builders was noted as having been granted a waiver previously requested and approved by the board. The presenter summarized the update by saying the project is moving forward and compliance is being maintained.
Board members asked for the compliance goal; staff confirmed the goal is 85% local compliance and noted that past reports from Lokey and Brill have generally exceeded that threshold. There were no further questions and no board action beyond receiving the report.
"So everything is moving right along there," the presenter said when concluding the update.
The board did not take further action on the Poly Craft report at this meeting; staff will continue routine monitoring and report back as required.
