Middletown names high‑school gate 'Wolfslayer Gate,' approves facilities change orders and honors custodial staff

Earlier in the meeting facilities director Bill Bartlett summarized and the board approved four change orders: additional excavation and concrete work for bench seating and steps at the Twin Towers Courtyard; installing turf with an 'M' logo instead of decorative stone and plants; emergency repair work on the Presidential parking lot and playground track; and expanding the student drop‑off radius and walkway repair at Maple Hill. The change orders were approved by the board (vote recorded as carried 9-0).
The board also publicly recognized buildings-and-grounds and custodial staff, noting large summer projects such as flooring replacements at Monhagen and Presidential and courtyard grading at Twin Towers. Facilities staff described the logistics and thanked custodial crews and administrators for coordination that enabled classrooms to be ready for the start of school.
The board asked that recognition photos and materials be posted and thanked staff for their work ahead of the school year.
