The Sherwood City Council voted unanimously on several planning items, adopting an amended rezoning for a property on Highway 107, approving abandonment of internal easements on a combined lot, and authorizing acquisition of easements for the Power Line Trail (Track 20).
On the rezoning, applicant Thomas Pownall of Thomas Engineering told council "we would be very happy to amend our zoning request from C3 to C2," and the council amended the ordinance to reflect the change before advancing it through readings and adopting the amended map for the property at 78100 Highway 107.
Planning staff explained the abandonment request for two existing 10-foot easements on part of Lot 8 R Trammel Addition resulted from combining lots and that the easements were no longer needed; staff said easements could be recaptured if lots were separated later. The council advanced readings and adopted the abandonment ordinance unanimously (motion by Council Member Wade, second by Council Member Thomas).
Council also approved a resolution to acquire temporary construction easements and a permanent easement related to the Power Line Trail (Track 20 near Stonehill). Staff advised the acquisition is grant-funded and that the city—s portion is the grant match; council approved the resolution by roll call.
Outcome: all three items passed by unanimous vote. Planning staff will proceed with recording the easement changes, implementing the rezoning in the official map, and completing acquisition steps for the trail easement.
