Apache Junction — The City Council voted Dec. 17 to recommend that the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control approve a Series 10 beer-and-wine store license for a new ARCO AMPM at the corner of Ironwood and Broadway.
City staff reported receiving the application on Nov. 14 and said inspections from Apache Junction Police, Building and Safety, Planning & Zoning and the Superstition Fire District recommended approval. Staff noted the property is still under construction and awaiting final inspection and certificate of occupancy.
The public hearing opened; no members of the public spoke. Council then voted in favor of forwarding a recommendation of approval to the state licensing authority.
The recommendation does not itself grant a license; final authority rests with the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control, which will make the licensing decision after its review.
