Thomas Weaver, who identified himself as a Cherokee County resident and taxpayer, told the board he worried that proposed FLOST implementation and any tie to the CPI would not match what voters expect. "I'm asking you to elevate the excellence to find a way, if there is one, to give the voters what they think they're going to get, the CPI," Weaver said. He praised the board's prior conservative governance but warned of potential backlash if expectations are not met.
Before public comment, the board attorney read the public participation rules under board policy BCBI, noting a 30-minute limit and that speakers should not expect responses from board members during the meeting. Thomas Weaver was the lone public speaker listed for this session.
On routine business, the board unanimously approved the Dec. 12 meeting agenda (motion carried 7-0), the Nov. 21 work session and board meeting minutes (motion carried 7-0), and the consent agenda containing action items 1–5 from the work session (motion carried 7-0). The meeting concluded after the board announced no executive session was needed.
