Council reappoints Tammy Mauer to fiber commission, approves multiple liaison appointments

The Centennial City Council on Dec. 17 approved a slate of appointments, including resolution 2024-R-54 to appoint Mayor Pro Tem Tammy Mauer to the Fiber Commission for a three-year term, and separate resolutions (2024-R-55 and 2024-R-56) appointing liaisons and representatives to outside boards, commissions and city advisory bodies.
Council members nominated and seconded Mauer for the fiber commission seat; Mauer accepted the nomination. Council asked staff whether the three-year commission term posed a conflict with Mauer’s council term limits; staff said there is no immediate conflict and that a council member serving a commission seat may complete or fill a term subject to council appointment rules. Council discussed succession planning for the fiber commission given anticipated turnover and staff said they would maintain institutional knowledge through career staff support.
The council then considered two related resolutions (R-55 and R-56) that list liaisons to outside organizations and internal committees. Staff noted those resolutions were passed as amended with substituted exhibits. Both motions passed with the recorded vote of nine ayes.
