Lehi council approves ice rink contract, concrete services, pickleball courts, plat amendment and zoning change

Lehi City Council took a series of routine actions July 23, approving contracts, a plat amendment and an ordinance amendment in single roll-call votes.
The council approved Resolution 2024-41 to extend an agreement with Ice America for a temporary ice rink; staff said the rink will be about half the size of a hockey rink and that a second chiller will be added due to power limits.
Resolution 2024-42 authorized a two-year agreement with Quicksilver Concrete for concrete removal and replacement services after a competitive bid process; staff reported six bidders in the first round and four in the second and explained the city’s concrete budgetary context.
Resolution 2024-43 approves contracting Park and Tennis Courts to construct pickleball courts at Shadow Ridge Park, with impact fees identified as the primary funding source for that park improvement.
The council approved a plat amendment for Gardner Point Phase 5 to relocate a public utility easement at roughly 1180 North 3960 West; Focus Engineering’s Ben Duzette described the change as a small amendment needed to avoid tearing out building footings.
On Ordinance 44, council approved an amendment to the Thanksgiving Point area plan to allow automotive repair use in the commercial zone for a specific parcel; there was clarifying discussion about whether the use should be listed as permitted or conditional before the council resolved the language and voted.
Votes were taken by roll call and the motions carried as presented. These items were presented as staff-recommended and passed without amendments noted on the record.
