School Committee accepts gifts and minutes, thanks PTOs

The Groton-Dunstable Regional School District School Committee approved its consent agenda on Dec. 18, accepting meeting minutes and a set of gifts from Parent-Teacher Organizations and community donors.
The consent items included meeting minutes for Dec. 4, 2020, books valued at $391.86 from Swallow Union PTO to Swallow Union Elementary, books valued at $1,449.83 from the Bridal School PTO to the middle school library and classrooms, an unrestricted gift of $15,000 to Swallow Union Elementary, and a $1,000 gift to improve the Black Box Theatre sound system at the high school. A committee member moved to approve all items, the motion was seconded, and members approved the consent agenda by roll call.
During the vote the chair said the committee would send thank-you letters to the generous PTOs and community members who donated. The committee did not request any items be pulled for separate consideration.
The donations will be acknowledged by the committee and details from the acceptance will be included in district acknowledgements.
