Task force reviews Montessori program counts and student enrollment; department to supply detailed lists

"So in the early learning type 2 is, about 1300 students, 1323," Speaker 2 said.
Members cautioned that current lists may mix public charter and private programs and could double-count schools that appear in both early-childhood and K–12 registries. Speaker 1 asked staff to circulate the underlying program lists and enrollment data so members can verify counts and assess how many students would be affected by policy changes.
Task force members emphasized the need for clearer data tags and backend system mappings so the department can accurately identify which programs self-identify as Montessori and which meet defined criteria for curriculum and environment. No funding actions were taken; the ask was informational and intended to shape future advocacy and legislative priorities.
