House concurs in joint resolution scheduling governor's budget message

The Vermont House on Friday concurred in a Senate‑offered joint resolution scheduling a joint assembly to receive the governor’s budget message. The resolution, JRS 34, was read to the House and states: “Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives that the houses meet in joint assembly on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon to receive the budget message of the governor.”
The reading identified Senator Kitchell as the offering senator and recorded that the Senate had read and adopted the resolution. The House then adopted the resolution in concurrence by voice vote. No debate or amendment to the wording was recorded on the House floor during the reading and concurrence.
The joint assembly date and time are now set in both chambers’ calendars for Jan. 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
