Ordinances • Bill 5242 (order submitting the user surcharge for certain discharges) was approved on roll call and becomes Ordinance 3418 (roll call recorded 6–0). • Bill 5243 (amendments to the sign code regarding maintenance and repair) was approved on roll call and becomes Ordinance 3419 (vote 6–0).
Resolutions • Resolution 2024-20 — Purchase of a printer for the police department — approved by voice vote. • Resolution 2024-21 — Authorization for a chip-and-seal surfacing contract with Gershinson Construction Company Inc. — was read and, after resident concerns were raised, an alderman moved to table the resolution until the next meeting (July 16); the motion to table carried. • Resolution 2024-22 — Agreement with Franklin County Humane Society for stray-animal services — approved by voice vote.
Payments and purchase orders • Payment to UMB for 2023 COP: $81,512.50 — approved. • Payment to UMB for 2012 PMAC leasehold bond: $1,616.10 — approved. • Purchase order / payment to Midwest Casings for east-end lift station and lift station number 2: $62,171.34 — approved.
Other actions • The board approved a special-event permit for the Pacific Area Chamber of Commerce dinner on West Saint Louis Street (ticketed event, assistance with barricades noted). • The board voted to refer a planning/zoning text amendment on infill development and density to Planning & Zoning for review and a public hearing.
