Commissioners press for enforcement after gaps cited in subdivision emergency access

Commissioners discussed enforcement steps, including withholding inspections or building permits until required access is provided and coordinating with the fire marshal.
Separately, the building commissioner reported upcoming Planning & Zoning items: a public meeting on cargo containers on Aug. 13 and a Highlands PUD application covering roughly 55 acres and about 20 lots. Commissioners expressed traffic concerns for Lamar Parkway and Old Grey Summit Road and asked staff to flag access and secondary-exit requirements early in review so those issues are not overlooked again.
The commission requested staff follow up with the fire marshal and code enforcement, find the approving ordinance/site plan for historical confirmation, and report back at a future meeting. No enforcement actions were taken during this meeting.
