The Pacific Historical Society board voted to forward a proposal to the mayor and board of aldermen to apply for a Missouri Humanities semiquincentennial grant that opens Dec. 1 and closes Jan. 1.
"We can ask for up to 25,000 for the semi quintentennial grant," said Chairman Dennis Oliver, who presented the opportunity after staff member Kelly suggested the society submit its historical-plaque and walking-tour project. The presenter said the grant is competitive and that Missouri Humanities has approximately $1,000,000 available across awards.
