The Pacific Tourism Committee voted to appoint Christina Ryan as its new chair and approved the minutes from the previous meeting by voice vote.
The committee opened the floor for nominations. Christina Ryan was nominated, accepted the nomination and the committee moved and seconded the motion to appoint her; members signaled assent by voice. After the vote, the chair pro tempore turned the meeting over to Christina Ryan.
Ryan, who introduced herself to the group as a long-time resident of the Cedars with a background in promotion and writing, said she is focused on getting results from modest budgets. She told the committee she wants “to get a whole lot of bang for very little money” by leveraging volunteers and low-cost promotion.
The committee also completed routine business, approving the prior meeting’s minutes by voice vote before the chair election. The meeting adjourned after the agenda items were covered.
The committee will next reconvene to continue planning Centennial events and to review grant and sponsorship decisions.
