Mayor establishes Jeffrey White Memorial Skate Park committee and names members

Mayor Filling proposed an ad hoc Jeffrey White Memorial Skate Park Project Committee to oversee RFQs, engineering design reviews and construction procurement for the proposed memorial skate park.
The board voted to establish the committee and appointed Jeff White, Paula White, Johnny Phelps and Chris Fowler to serve. Mayor Filling said the committee will meet as needed, will invite staff (including the park superintendent and public works input) when technical topics arise, and that the city will enter any cost‑sharing agreement with the Jeffrey White Memorial Foundation, Inc.
Alderman Cleave was nominated by a fellow board member and approved as the board liaison to the committee. The mayor noted the panel would remain ad hoc and only exist through project completion; RFQs for design and construction will proceed subject to Land and Water Conservation Fund requirements and final board approval of awards and contracts.
The board directed the city attorney and staff to draft a cost‑sharing agreement for the foundation and to bring the agreement back at the next meeting for consideration.
