The Pacific Board of Aldermen acted on several previously introduced bills and resolutions during its Dec. 17 meeting.
Highlands subdivision (bill 5262): The board approved bill 5262, providing for a final plat and performance surety for the Highlands subdivision. Alderman Madrigal moved the bill, seconded by Alderman Kelly; the clerk recorded a 5–1 vote in favor. The mayor announced bill 5262 will become ordinance 3437.
Winter Wheat Trail speed limit (bill 5263): The board approved bill 5263 setting a 25-mile-per-hour speed limit on Winter Wheat Trail. Alderman Stewart moved the measure, Alderman Kelly seconded, and the board approved by a 6–0 roll call; the clerk announced the bill will become ordinance 3438.
Union articles of agreement (resolution 2024-38): The board untabled and approved resolution 2024-38, authorizing the mayor to execute articles of agreement with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 148 (AFL-CIO). Members discussed clarifications to vacation accrual language and wage articles; the resolution carried on voice vote.
Other approvals: The board approved a Dole Services quote of $11,155 to repair City Hall’s HVAC (a stopgap while a full replacement is priced), and approved a motion to submit the 4th & Osage improvement project to MoDOT seeking reimbursement for a $21,171.51 supplemental agreement. The clerk also recorded approval of the list of municipal bills on the consent list.
Taken together, these actions advance subdivision approvals, traffic-safety adjustments, labor agreements and capital/maintenance work scheduled for the coming months.
