Meigs County commissioners approve minutes, appointments, bids and budget adjustments in regular meeting

In routine business the Meigs County Board of Commissioners approved a series of administrative and financial items by roll-call vote.
The board approved the November minutes and the trustee report for November. The commission tabled the Henley Mill Bridge invoice for further discussion and approved a contract with Upland Design Group for courthouse foundation oversight (see separate article). A surplus request from the planning-and-zoning office to declare a printer junk was approved.
Appointments and reappointments included the appointment of Jeff Howard to the Public Records Commission and the reappointment of James Staten to the 911 board; both were approved by roll call. Board of Education budget amendments were approved, and commissioners authorized staff to solicit sealed bids for wayfinding signage using the 3-star grant.
Other budget adjustments approved included adding funds for commission insurance for newly seated commissioners and adding money for county clerk legal ads. The board also discussed scheduling sanitation and jail-committee meetings around the next workshop and confirmed routine informational items such as the Meigs County grand jury report and economic development minutes before adjourning.
