Committee approves two‑student choral trip and multiple donations; facilities cleared adaptive playground gift

The Norwood School Committee approved a late, out‑of‑state field‑trip request and accepted several community donations on Dec. 18.
Jen Harding told the committee two students were accepted to the American Choral Directors Association national conference in Dallas and that required paperwork, including liability insurance, was complete. "We had 2 students that were accepted, into it, which is kind of a big deal," Harding said. Committee members moved and seconded a motion to approve the trip and voted in favor.
The committee also approved consent‑agenda donations: Bay State Textiles contributed Thanksgiving baskets, a community donor provided adaptive playground equipment for preschool students (LMPA playground donation), and a bike rack donation was accepted for a school site. Facilities staff reviewed the playground donation and completed a site walk; the committee recorded that follow‑up coordination will proceed through facilities and central office.
All consent items on the record passed on roll call.
