Auburn School Committee approves routine minutes, policies, contracts and CIP amendments

The Auburn School Committee voted on a package of routine and financial items at its Dec. 18 meeting, approving minutes, policy updates, multi-year vendor contracts, amended capital-improvement budgets and the district—s grants list.
The committee approved the minutes from the Dec. 4, 2024 meeting after a motion and second, and subsequently approved the meal charge and refund policy on its third reading. The business manager presented a list of budget transfers dated Dec. 10, 2024; the committee moved and approved those transfers.
Under procurement rules in MGL c.30B, the committee approved a 60-month Pitney Bowes postage meter lease for several schools and a 42-month ParentSquare contract for districtwide communication and translation services; the business manager said the district can use EL reimbursement funds to offset some ParentSquare costs. The committee also approved amended FY2025 and FY2026 capital improvement budgets required to send to the town, with a recommendation to repurpose certain funds and coordinate HVAC work with town ARPA funds.
The business manager presented the district—s listing of grants for the 2024—25 school year; the committee voted to accept the grants as required by town policy.
All motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the meeting record.
The committee adjourned at the close of the agenda.
