School committee approves DECA overnight competition trips for Westborough High students

She asked the committee to approve the state competition at the Seaport Convention Center in Boston (Feb. 27'Mar. 1) and a contingency trip to the international competition in Florida (Apr. 25'30) if students advance.
Amanda noted typical progression and past participation levels: "Last year, we had 91 students at districts, and then we have 37 at states, and we had 9 at our international level of competition." A committee member moved to approve both trips; the committee voted in favor.
The approved trips will require parental permission forms and overnight field-trip logistics; the advisor said exact travel numbers will depend on district-level qualifying results after the January district competition.
