CPS staffing update: provisional hires pass exams, two vacancies remain

Lori Doles, Director of Certification, reported the department’s child protection services staffing and training status as largely positive.
Doles told the committee, "I'm happy to say I'm here with nothing but good news. All of our provisional hires have passed the exam." She said the department currently has two CPS vacancies and will conduct interviews next week, and that four staff members are still in training — some finishing next month and the last person expected to finish in mid-February.
Doles said caseloads are "on par" with last year and that the addition of newly certified staff has helped stabilize workloads; she also said supervisors and training processes are addressing remaining disparities between the Jamestown and Dunkirk offices.
Committee members thanked Doles and asked for periodic follow-ups; the director agreed to return to the committee for updates as requested.
