The Clinton County Legislature adopted its 2025 county budget on Dec. 11, approving Resolution 1022 after a brief discussion about public access to budget documents.
Clerk Miss Kimball read the title of Resolution 1022, and Legislator Timmons moved the motion with Legislator Hall seconding. During discussion, Timmons told colleagues the full budget document will be made available online “as soon as tomorrow” so residents can review the detailed materials and comment.
The finance committee had previously recommended the budget following meetings with staff, including Deputy County Treasurer Rebecca Murphy, who provided information on sales tax and other revenue considerations. Committee members thanked staff for their work bringing the recommended budget forward.
The legislature approved the resolution by the recorded votes taken at the meeting. The county will post the complete 2025 budget to its website for public review and comment, according to remarks during the meeting. No further amendments to Resolution 1022 were recorded during the session.
The legislature continued to consider a long series of additional resolutions after adopting the budget; an executive session was later scheduled at the end of the public meeting.
