Residents press legislature on Chautauqua Lake MOU, wetlands rules and lake-management governance

At the first privilege of the floor, Jim Warfritz (Chautauqua Lake Property Owners Association) reviewed prior agreements, saying a 2019 memorandum of agreement contained 26 specific requirements but was widely unmet and later converted to a nonbinding MOU with narrower language. Warfritz asked the legislature to specify who will determine signatory noncompliance and consequences if parties fail to meet commitments, and to broaden eligibility so new organizations can participate rather than limiting membership to prior cosigners.
