A curb design question at Collier and Russell drew resident preference for a 12-inch curb that mirrors a nearby strip mall; staff will confirm slope implications with the design team.
Public Works reported the Lewis Avenue sinkhole was caused by a failing lateral and a failing MSD trunk line; rehabilitation work addressed both issues and crews will finish with asphalt patching after concrete pours. A retaining wall between Hilldale and Manderly is leaning; staff have engaged a design-build consultant to provide a budget range so the city can scope an RFP for early-next-year work.
Staff also said the city hall roof replacement was pushed into November/December because of a regional shingle shortage; staff plan to do flat-roof work while awaiting shingles and noted a FEMA project deadline in February 2025 tied to related work.
No formal board action was required for the reported items; staff will return with contract and scheduling details as work progresses.
