The Boonville City Council on a single evening approved a $299,713.16 appropriation covering salaries and various accounts, took up consent items including a pay change for Radbaker Construction, and advanced several ordinances affecting sanitation and airport projects.
At the start of its meeting, the council approved three consent items together: a pay change for Radbaker Construction at Hill Ridge (listed in the packet as 205,496), a change order with no dollar impact, and renovations for GloveCon at city hall. Speaker 5 moved to approve the consent items and Speaker 3 seconded; the items passed on roll call with council members recorded as voting in the affirmative.
The council then approved an ordinance appropriating a total of $299,713.16 to cover allowed salaries and accounts. The ordinance listed allocations across funds, including $206,474.21 to the general fund, $24,946.25 to waterworks, $17,470.79 to wastewater, $8,847.04 to tourism and $19,589.57 to gaming. The motion to approve the appropriation passed on roll call.
In other formal action, the council approved on second reading an ordinance amending the city code’s solid-waste collection fees (Appendix G) to raise the residential sanitation charge from $22.50 to $23.50 per month. City staff explained the increase reflects a contractual COLA for Waste Management, higher labor and insurance costs, and the sanitation fund’s staffing and operating costs.
The council also authorized execution of Amendment No. 1 to the contract with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to provide additional funding for the North Taxi Lane reconstruction at the Boonville airport. City leaders said engineers will proceed with planning and design and that construction coordination will be required for aircraft on the field.
First readings were held for a Missouri Soccer Park joint-ownership/maintenance agreement with the Booneville Arwin School District and Booneville Soccer Academy and for a replat of 520 Rhine Street (Main Street Center). Those items were given first reading and will return for further consideration.
The meeting concluded with routine reports from the Planning & Zoning committee and city staff. The council adjourned following a motion and voice vote.
