Brentwood P&Z recommends approval of comprehensive sign plan for 1234 Hanley Industrial Court

The Brentwood Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend the Board of Aldermen approve a comprehensive sign plan for 1234 Hanley Industrial Court that requires signage to be black or dark bronze and restricts ground signage on the south elevation.
Staff told commissioners the site-plan subcommittee recommended allowing tenant signage across a primary sign band while limiting individual tenant signage and permitting only minor logo elements on additional fascias. "They can utilize the entire sign band or fascia for their tenant space over the main entrance," staff said during the presentation.
Commissioners said the conditions would provide a consistent, high-quality appearance while allowing flexibility for tenants with large frontages. Sherry Bilderback, who was on the subcommittee, praised the compromise as striking "the line between the different things and the needs and wanting it to look good and dealing with the existing situation while setting an appropriate precedent."
The commission made a motion to recommend approval with the five conditions listed in the June 12, 2024 staff report and approved the motion on a roll call vote; the recording indicates unanimous support.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Aldermen for final action.
