The Brentwood Board of Aldermen voted Oct. 7 to authorize the Brentwood Fire Department to apply for an ARPA grant targeted to ambulance-service programs administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Chief (Brentwood Fire Department) told the Board the notice of funding arrived after a canceled committee meeting and emphasized that the motion approved only the application; if the grant is awarded, staff will return with a resolution to accept the funds. The chief said the award would reduce future capital-improvement expenses and that the department has routinely included some monitoring equipment in ambulance procurement; staff characterized this round of funding as "slightly less competitive" than prior opportunities.
The Board approved the motion to apply by roll-call vote of 7–0.
