The Brentwood Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously on Oct. 9 to recommend that the Board of Aldermen approve P&Z 2420, a text amendment to the city’s fence regulations for corner lots.
Planning staff (Kelly) summarized the proposed changes, saying the amendment eliminates grandfathering in the cited section (noted in the discussion as section 4124.100(a)), removes older language and revises text related to ornamental fences and pipe fences. Staff also told the commission that the Board of Adjustment had approved six recent applications under the existing rules, indicating the amendment clarifies the code rather than creating an entirely new permitting pathway.
Commissioner Bilderback said she had no questions and indicated support: "I think it's fine." Following a motion to recommend approval to the Board of Aldermen and a second, the commission conducted a roll-call vote and recorded affirmative votes from each member; the chair confirmed the action was unanimous.
The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Aldermen for final consideration under the city’s legislative process. The P&Z action does not itself change the municipal code; it is a referral recommending adoption.
