The Brentwood Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of a conditional use permit for Monarch Beauty Day Spa at 2001 South Hanley Road (Hanley Point). Applicant representatives told the commission the tenant will occupy a 4,296-square-foot lease space and operate by appointment during weekday hours.
Erica Seidel of Intellica Commercial Real Estate and Ashley Heshedal, asset manager for owner Bamboo Equity Partners, said the tenant seeks personal care services in a light industrial district. Staff reported that the Planning & Zoning Commission had recommended approval of the text amendment allowing the use, the Board of Aldermen approved that text amendment at its Dec. 2 meeting, and the site has 182 on-site parking spaces vs. 160 spaces required based on staff’s assessment.
Commissioner Paul Moran moved to recommend approval; Jack Shelton seconded. The commission took a roll-call vote with all members recorded as yes. Staff said the item will be scheduled for a public hearing before the Board of Aldermen on Jan. 6.
The motion was procedural: the commission recommended approval of the conditional use permit; the Board of Aldermen will hold the public hearing and issue any final permit action.
