The City of Wildwood Planning and Parks Committee adjourned its scheduled meeting on Dec. 13, 2024, after the acting chair determined the panel lacked a quorum.
The acting chair opened the meeting and conducted roll call but noted Chair Mike Galani was not present and had asked the acting chair to fill in. After roll call showed four members present, the acting chair said, "We need 5 for a quorum... So as a result, we're going to immediately adjourn this meeting." The committee does not have enough members present to take formal action without a fifth vote.
Committee members and staff spent several minutes troubleshooting remote audio and confirming that Dr. Rambo had joined by phone. Staff and participants discussed unmuting and speaker-phone options so the remote member could be heard, but that did not produce a quorum in time.
The acting chair and staff proposed rescheduling the meeting and mentioned Jan. 14 as a candidate date, subject to calendar and venue availability. An attendee noted the Jan. 14 date may not be available because a homeowners association had already booked the meeting room, and staff said they would coordinate to find a date when at least five members can attend.
No substantive agenda items were taken up and no formal motions or votes occurred. The acting chair apologized to presenters and the public for the inconvenience and said staff will work "to coordinate with you as we can because this is an important project that everybody on the council is very interested in."
Staff are expected to confirm a new meeting date and notify participants and the public when scheduling is complete. The committee adjourned without conducting its planned business.
