In Personnel Report A, the board approved recommendations for certificated and support staff roles, including a board‑certified behavior analyst (BCBA), middle‑school social studies teacher hires, 504 coordinator, multiple paraprofessionals and maintenance positions; the report also listed retirements and resignations. Doctor Carina presented the names and backgrounds of each recommended candidate. The motion to approve Personnel Report A was moved by Mr. Mishner and supported by Doctor Ruskin; the board voted 7‑0 in favor.
The board also approved Personnel Report B, a departmental restructuring that established separate directors for elementary and secondary education, and confirmed Laura Bidlak as director of elementary education. Bidlak introduced herself and her family after the appointment; the motion to approve her appointment was moved by Doctor Ruskin and supported by Mr. Mena, and passed 7‑0.
Separately, the board moved to adopt a "highly effective" rating for the superintendent’s professional practice after a closed‑session evaluation process and a review of the superintendent’s self‑reflection. Doctor Ruskin moved the rating and Missus Beaudoin supported it; the motion passed 7‑0. Trustees offered public praise and brief explanation of the rubric and process used in the closed session.
No votes at the Dec. 19 meeting modified compensation details in public session; the board recorded approvals of recommendations as presented by staff.
