Resolution 33: First Amendment to Building Use Agreement — The board approved a first amendment to the building-use agreement between Birmingham Public Schools and the Birmingham Area senior group (NEXT) to extend the group's occupancy of space at Midvale through May 2027 to accommodate renovations. The motion passed 6–0.
Resolution 34: Consent agenda — The board accepted the consent agenda (personnel report, financial statements and minutes) on a 6–0 vote.
Resolution 35: Amend Bylaw 1002 (minutes and retention) — Deputy Superintendent Heich read proposed language to amend Board Bylaw 1002 to add procedures for approval, storage and retention of open and closed session minutes, including a locked file for closed minutes and retention until district dissolution with transfer of open minutes to the state archives. The board voted to waive a second reading and adopted the amendment (resolution 35) 6–0. The amendment takes effect immediately upon passage, as moved and supported on the record.
Resolution 36: Emergency operations plans — The board completed its required biannual review and accepted the district's emergency operations plans as presented. The motion passed 6–0.
All of the above votes were voice votes recorded by the chair as aye with no recorded opposition. Several of the items were discussed as part of routine business with no substantive public comment recorded during the meeting.
