Framingham School Committee unanimously approves 2024–25 goals and routine business

At the Dec. 18 meeting the Framingham School Committee voted unanimously to approve its combined goals for 2024–2025, excluding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion goals which the committee paused for later consideration. The motion to approve the goals was moved by Tiffany Maskol and seconded by Rich Robles; the chair conducted a roll‑call vote and the motion passed unanimously.
The committee also took several routine votes: members accepted listed gifts to the high school and other schools (including funding for staff appreciation and field trips), approved creation of three scholarship accounts (the J. Marching Arts Scholarship, the Wright Charles Scholarship and the Urban J. Charles Scholarship), and approved open session minutes from Oct. 30, 2024. All motions were moved, seconded and approved unanimously.
Warrant and payroll totals were reported during the finance subcommittee report: a warrant total of $1,078,604.15 and payroll of $5,737,261.15 for the period cited. Chair then checked for additional public comment (no speakers) and the committee adjourned at 7:38 p.m. after a motion by William LaBarge and a second by Jen Moshe.
What this means: The committee completed its listed agenda votes without dissent; DEI goals remain pending further restructuring of the Office of Equity, Belonging and Community Engagement and will be voted on later.
