The Lafourche Parish School Board opened its December meeting with an awards and recognition ceremony that honored dozens of support employees across elementary, middle and high schools.
Presenters named school- and parish-level winners; Miss Lisa Boutro was announced as principal of the year. Parish-wide outstanding support employee winners included Margaux Poelke (South LaRose Elementary), Rodney Taber (6th Ward Middle) and Brandy Foray (Central Lafourche High School). District staff thanked awardees for “going above and beyond” in roles that include custodial, clerical, technology assistance and health services.
The board also read and adopted resolutions honoring retired teachers Miss Janet Dugan and Mister Larry Dufren, noting their hiring dates and years of service (32 and 33 years, respectively) and directing that the resolutions be recorded in the meeting records.
The awards and resolutions were adopted by general consent and required no separate roll-call votes. The ceremony preceded routine consent-agenda business that the board approved later in the meeting.
