Florence — Following an executive-session discussion about a contractual matter, the Florence School District 1 Board of Trustees authorized the superintendent to execute documents conveying a right-of-way easement of approximately 0.23 acres along East Old Marion Highway in the area of Wilson High School and a nearby battery-plant intersection.
Chairman Stewart moved that the superintendent be authorized to execute the necessary documents to convey the easement, described in the materials presented to the board as a 0.23-acre strip running approximately 1,092 feet, to be conveyed at no consideration. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board stated the executive session was for discussion only and that no action was taken during the closed portion of the meeting. The easement authorization was presented in open session after the board returned. The public record in the meeting packet includes materials depicting the easement’s location.
The motion text as read into the record specified the superintendent may execute such documents as necessary to convey the right-of-way along East Old Marion Highway; trustees voted in favor by acclamation. The board adjourned immediately after the vote.
No further public detail about the recipient of the easement, any related project agreements, or financial consideration beyond "no consideration" was stated in the public meeting record.
