Speaker 2 reported that county council approved a solicitation for an impact-fee study and that the contracted vendor has returned a draft. The staffer said the final draft is scheduled to be presented to the planning commission on Oct. 10 at 4 p.m., and that Speaker 2 and Dr. Robbins plan to attend that meeting.
Speaker 2 said the planning commission presentation could lead to an event for county council consideration and eventual adoption of the study, which would inform the district's impact-fee decisions. Board members briefly discussed housing growth and whether previously negotiated developer agreements would affect whether future impact fees apply to current developments.
No vote or decision on the study was recorded at this meeting; staff said they will attend the planning commission presentation and follow up with the board if the study advances toward county-council action.
