The operations committee unanimously recommended that the superintendent finalize and sign a temporary easement enabling a connection from the new May River Elementary to the Lakes at New Riverside neighborhood.
Staff said the town of Bluffton requires a roadway and water/sewer connection; the link also improves water pressure by creating a loop. The easement will include a gate to restrict the connection to emergency vehicle use and is intended primarily for emergency access if incidents block other entrances.
Committee members had no substantive questions and voted to authorize the superintendent to negotiate and sign the finalized documents. Staff said the easement is required to finalize permits with the town so construction can begin; a construction start was anticipated once permits are secured.
