Putnam County Legislature — Dec. 19, 2024 — Colleagues used the year-end meeting to offer farewell remarks to outgoing members and to thank staff and volunteers for their service.
Multiple legislators praised the work of departing colleagues referred to in discussion as legislators Castellano and Nacerino and recalled projects including the Putnam County Veterans Medal Advisory Panel, established in 2019. Legislator Adnizio described the medal project and said she was "proud to be a part of that," noting the medal’s design by Michael Korobean and recalling a reenactment honoring World War I returning veterans.
Speakers commended department heads, the sheriff, district attorney, county clerk and county staff for their work over the chair’s two terms. The chair, identified in roll call as Chairman Young, offered a farewell reflection: "Tonight is my last night as the chairman of the legislature. I've had the opportunity to be here for 2 terms." Several legislators offered holiday wishes and personal thanks.
Remarks were delivered as part of the recognition of legislators (Item 8) rather than during a formal vote or public-comment session; no formal actions were taken as part of these tributes.
