During the Dec. 16 meeting the Fiscal Services Committee handled several items with limited debate.
Land trust easement: The Legislature authorized the county executive to execute a temporary construction easement with the Orange County Land Trust to build roughly 13 parking spaces off Great Court Road to serve the Heritage Trail (legislative request 312). The presenter corrected the town listed in the agenda from Chester to Bloom Grove and the amended motion carried.
NYS Parks grant language: The committee amended Resolution 56 of 2016 to incorporate language required by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in order to execute and be reimbursed for a previously awarded $500,000 grant for a Heritage Trail segment (legislative request 297). The amendment and final motion were approved.
Insurance reimbursement: The committee accepted and appropriated $110,090.89 in insurance funds toward remediation debt for damage to the Hickory Hill maintenance garage from Hurricane Ida; presenters said initial claims were denied but FEMA and emergency-services staff helped secure reimbursement (legislative request 311). The measure passed.
Provenance: the easement discussion occurs from about SEG 491 to SEG 546; grant amendment at SEG 464-489; insurance funds at SEG 547-575.
