- Opioid-settlement funds: The committee approved appropriating $137,135 from opioid-settlement funds to create a peer-support coordinator position in the Department of Emergency Services to oversee countywide peer support for first responders and their families. Staff said the position covers salary and fringe and will support training, volunteer coordination and post-incident outreach.
- Medical examiner — NYS AIDS Institute: The committee accepted $225,000 from the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute to fund disease-intervention specialist salaries for work in Orange County during 2025.
