The Fiscal Services Committee approved a $2,490,000 supplemental appropriation to complete construction contracts, testing, construction management, architect/engineer costs and FF&E for the county medical examiner facility (legislative request 305).
Infrastructure officials said the county previously returned about $3.2 million in ARPA funds and now requests a smaller amount to replenish the project budget. Presenters reiterated that the overall project budget was approximately $24 million and that current spending is expected to fall between $23 million and $24 million when final accounting and contingency lines are settled. A ribbon-cutting was reported to be scheduled the next day.
Committee members asked about total spend to date; presenters said they expected total spend to be over $23 million but under $24 million when complete. The motion to appropriate the funds passed unanimously.
